Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) opened in 2004 in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego. [36] The school uses the semester class schedule similar to San Dieguito Academy. During the 2020-2021 school year, CCA enrolled 2,503 students making it the second largest school in the district. [ 37 ]

The Spanish arrived in 1542 and founded Mission San Diego de Alcalá nearby in 1769.Judge Hyde was one of the first settlers of Clairemont and began farming in Tecolote Canyon in 1872.
