Steven Craig Zahler (born January 23, 1973) is an American filmmaker, novelist and composer. After beginning his career working briefly as a cinematographer, Zahler focused on screenwriting until he made his directorial debut with Bone Tomahawk (2015).

Craig Zahler.The film is the thirteenth entry in the Puppet Master franchise, and is the first film produced by Fangoria under their "Fangoria Presents" label, following their acquisition by Cinestate.
Zahler said in an interview that the idea of the novel has existed with him for 21 years. He calls it his "single favorite piece" out of all his work; he further said that the novel has "probably more elements of horror, with intimations of supernatural and wondering about Hug’s parentage and some longer horror sequences, even if the end result isn’t incredibly violent in any spot."
