The United Soccer League (USL) is a governing body that organizes a number of professional and amateur soccer leagues in the United States league system.It currently organizes its Championship, League One, and League Two for men, its Super League and W League for women, and the USL Academy and USL Youth for youth players.

On September 8, 2010, the United Soccer Leagues formally announced the creation of USL Pro in a press release. [3] Prior to the official announcement of the new league, on August 11, 2010, the Dayton Dutch Lions FC revealed they would be joining the "USL-Pro Championship Division (former USL-2)" at a press conference, revealing the name of the new league before its official announcement.
