The Master of G is a line of G-Shock watches produced by Japanese electronics company Casio designed for usage in harsh environments. Many showcase new technology that Casio would eventually introduce into the G-Shock line of watches, such as an altimeter , digital compass and the Tough Solar feature.
Many Edifice watches utilise Tough Solar, Casio's brand name for solar powered batteries. More advanced models are "Waveceptors" which can calibrate themselves with atomic clocks via radio waves. Some models have Bluetooth connectivity which enable them to be monitored via a smart phone and to share chronograph data.
DW-8600 Fisherman (1996): First G-Shock to include a tide graph and moonphase feature. This model was a precursor to the more popular Gulfman series first introduced in 1998. Shock resistant is a common mark stamped on the back of wrist watches to indicate how well a watch copes with mechanical shocks. In a mechanical watch , it indicates that the delicate pivots that hold the balance wheel are mounted in a spring suspension system intended to protect them from damage if the watch is dropped.
Casio was established as Kashio Seisakujo in April 1946 by Tadao Kashio [] (1917–1993), an engineer specializing in fabrication technology. [1] Kashio's first major product was the yubiwa pipe, a finger ring that would hold a cigarette, allowing the wearer to smoke the cigarette down to its nub while also leaving the wearer's hands free.
