Pachmarhi is a hill station in the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh state of central India. It has been the location of a cantonment (Pachmarhi Cantonment) since the British Raj. [2] The municipality is located in a valley of the Satpura Range and is widely known as Satpura ki Rani. ("Queen of Satpura") Pachmarhi has an altitude of 1067.
The Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve is located within areas of Narmadapuram, Betul, and Chhindwara Districts in Madhya Pradesh. [2] The biosphere reserve's total area is 4,926.28 square kilometres (1,217,310 acres). It includes three wildlife conservation units: [3] Bori Sanctuary (518.00 km 2) Pachmarhi Sanctuary (461.37 km 2).

Army Educational Corps Training College and Centre, Pachmarhi has its origin dating back to 24 Apr 1921 when the British Indian Army HQ India, established the Army School of Education with two separate wings, namely, the British Wing at Wellington and the Indian Wing at Belgaum in 1924.

Pachmarhi used to be the summer capital of Madhya Pradesh. In 1967 it served as the summer capital for the last time. Having obtained the status of the summer capital, Pachmarhi has bungalows for the Chief Minister and other ministers too. As a logical extension, it also has a Raj Bhavan for the stay of the Governor.
