The La Plata National University (Spanish: Universidad Nacional de La Plata, UNLP) is a national public research university located in the city of La Plata, capital of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It has over 90,000 regular students, 10,000 teaching staff, 17 departments and 106 available degrees.
The main grounds of the university are located at Campus Miguelete, a 8.5-hectare compound named after Miguelete railway station. A surface of 48,000 square meters is occupied by buildings as of 2013. The campus was built on the site of a former rail yard. [6] Additional courses are imparted at the INTI and CNEA headquarters, in Buenos Aires.

The university's 275-acre (1.11 km 2) main campus is located in the Belmont area of northern Pueblo. The original 850-acre land was donated to build the campus. In 1985, the university determined that the current campus and anticipated growth could be accommodated on 275 acres. Over time the university has sold the excess property.
Vilanova Artigas was a faculty member of the school, and also helped create the original school's curriculum, a Bauhaus-style program giving equal footing to technical skills, history, and design.
