The conurbation of Lytham St Annes is served by three stations: Lytham, Ansdell and Fairhaven (adjacent to the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club) and St Annes. Northern runs trains from here to Blackpool South and to Kirkham, Preston and Colne once an hour all week (including Sundays); [1] these services are much less frequent than those to Blackpool North.
St Annes-on-the-Sea railway station serves the town of St Annes-on-the Sea, commonly known as St Annes, which is part of the conurbation of Lytham St Annes in Lancashire, England. It is located on the Blackpool South to Preston railway line 3 + 1 ⁄ 4 miles (5.2 km) south-southeast of Blackpool South.
They were reunited in 1922 under the compound name "Lytham St Annes". A civil parish called "Saint Anne's on the Sea" was created in 2005 just covering the western part of the built-up area. Lytham St Annes has four golf courses and links, the most notable being the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, which regularly hosts the Open Championship.
It is located in Moss Side, a hamlet where the B5259 (Lytham to Wrea Green) road crosses the railway at a level crossing. It is managed by Northern, which operates all passenger services that call there. When the station opened in 1846, it was at first called Kirkham Road. [2]
The Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, host to the Open Championship, is adjacent to the station. During national and international competitions the station is used to convey spectators to the course.

The Blackpool, St. Annes and Lytham Tramways Company purchased the assets of the former company for £115,000 (equivalent to £15,720,000 in 2023), [3] and in 1900 an act authorised an electric tramway to rebuild the route. The newly electrified tramway was opened on 28 May 1903.
