In 1941, the present school was established at Deolali in Nashik district of Maharashtra. The Anti – Aircraft School at Karachi was also moved to Deolali and merged with the School of Artillery as one of its Wings in 1947. The Coastal Artillery Wing of the School, which was located at Bombay, was handed over to the Indian Navy in 1965.
