The Calico & Odessa Railroad is a 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow gauge [1] heritage railroad in the ghost town of Calico, California, headquartered in Yermo, California. It was named for the town and mountain range of Calico and the nearby Odessa Canyon.
Knott's Berry Farm was originally modeled after Calico, California, a ghost town that was a result of the California silver rush. Already having a dedicated Ghost Town section in the theme park, [ 56 ] this area would become the designed area for the original Halloween Haunt, eventually expanding to the entire park.

Calico River Rapids is a themed river rapids ride located at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. The ride originally opened in 1988 as Bigfoot Rapids and was originally constructed by Intamin. For the 2019 season, the ride was refurbished with a western theme to match the well-themed Ghost Town section of the park.
