The BBC never repeated Paul Temple.The series suffered badly in the BBC's wiping policy of the 1970s. Of the 52 episodes of Paul Temple that were made, only 16 survive. 11 of the surviving 16 episodes exist in colour, and these were re-run on UK Gold in its formative years in the 1990s.

The film is an abridged version of the first ever Paul Temple radio serial, originally broadcast in April and May 1938 over eight episodes, also entitled Send for Paul Temple. [3] The radio script was by Francis Durbridge , who immediately collaborated with a co-author, John Thewes, on a novelisation, published in June 1938.

Ros Drinkwater (born 14 February 1944 - July 2022) was a Scottish-born actress, best known for her portrayal of Paul Temple's wife, Steve, in the eponymous television series, based on the character created by Francis Durbridge. She later moved into photojournalism. Ros Drinkwater was born in Glasgow, Scotland on 14 February 1944. [1]
