760. 2,623 posts. Posted September 20, 2012. 60˚ blades are fine for intermediate and cast vinyl. They are usually needed when cutting thicker material such as reflective vinyl. 60˚ blades are also recommended when cutting small details or very small letters. piscespokerbrat. Advanced Member.
Members. 5. 182 posts. Posted December 7, 2016. I have some 3M reflective vinyl and cut it on an old P-cut. I have to expose my blade a little deeper and set my press to 150 on that machine. I have to reset my depth and press for the different materials all the time. I usually use 100 to 120 press on regular products.
All you need to do is add your cutter as a printer so that you can select it in Corel Draw from the print menu and then set up your page accordingly. Our standard cutting page is 3200mm Wide by 340mm High. This is good for 15" rolls of material. You can change the height as needed per roll.
There should just barely be a marking on the vinyl backing. Keep adjusting the blade in until it just barely makes any mark on the vinyl backing, Now put the holder back in your vinyl cutter. If it does not cut the vinyl. keep adjusting the force until it cuts smoothly. and once again. barely marking the vinyl backing paper.

I browsed the forums quite a bit before and after ordering my SC2 and have looked around a little since cutting my first few experiments.
Then I realized my cutting strip had a few gouges in it from a couple of times my vinyl had come off the tracks. I turned it around after placing an order for another one. Check my blade's edge, exposure, rotation, etc. etc. upped the pen force to +2 and after a few more test cuts, found ABSOLUTELY NO improvement. I am pulling my hair out now.
