Umaria Sinhawansa was born 5 January 1991, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is the daughter of Tony Sinhawansa and Ayesha Sinhawansa who were musicians and Umaria was exposed to music early in her life. [9] Umaria studied at Muslim Ladies College and Gateway International school, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
