Music Institute of Chicago (formerly the Music Center of the North Shore) is a community music school in Illinois with campuses in Chicago, Downers Grove, Evanston, Lake Forest, Lincolnshire,and Winnetka. Founded in 1931, MIC has expanded over the years to its current status as an institution serving more than two thousand students at six campuses.
Four years later, the State of Illinois accredited the college as a degree-granting institution of higher learning. A Preparatory Division was opened which established branches throughout the city. Rudolph Ganz joined CMC's faculty in 1900 and, except for a brief hiatus in the 1920s, remained associated with the school until his death in 1972.

Lawndale is a community in Logan County, Illinois, United States which lies northeast of Springfield. The town lies on Interstate 55, part of the old Route 66, between Atlanta and Lincoln. The town lies just south of Kickapoo Creek. The town has one tavern, and a converted mobile home as its post office.
