The series was founded in time for the 2009 season by former motocross racer and Motorcycle Hall of Fame member Ricky Johnson as the Traxxas TORC Series [5] after hosting an off-road racing event at his Perris Auto Speedway in 2008. The 2024 Extreme E Championship was the fourth and final season of the Extreme E electric off-road racing series, before the transition to hydrogen fuel cell cars for 2025. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] The season was abandoned after only 4 of the planned 10 races.
