Green Lawn Cemetery is an active historic private rural cemetery located in Columbus, Ohio, in the United States.Organized in 1848 and opened in 1849, the cemetery was the city's premier burying ground in the 1800s and beyond.
At one time called "the Grave Yard of the City of Columbus", a new graveyard opened on present-day Livingston Avenue in 1841. This became the South Graveyard, with the older site renamed the North Graveyard. The Catholic Cemetery opened in 1846; these two new cemeteries relieved pressure to expand the North Graveyard.
