After some debate Cunard decided to "rebalance" the wheels by cuttibng off some more vanes and this was done. The ship sailed for New York on schedule. In New York divers found more damaged vanes and one again the wheels were rebalanced by cutting off a couple of more vanes. On QE2's return to Southampton the remaining vanes were all removed.
