This is a list of unincorporated communities in the U.S. state of Texas, listed by county. This may include disincorporated communities, towns with no incorporated status, ghost towns, or census-designated places.
Texas does not have townships; areas within a county are either incorporated or unincorporated. Incorporated areas are part of a city, though the city may contract with the county for needed services. Unincorporated areas are not part of a city; in these areas the county has authority for law enforcement and road maintenance.
In 1953, Lake Houston was opened as a water reservoir serving the City of Houston and serves as a recreational lake in the area today with boating, water skiing, jetting, fishing, and sailing. Huffman covers about 39 square miles (100 km 2 ) and houses approximately 12,000 citizens. [ 3 ]

Sheldon is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) in northeastern Harris County, Texas, United States, located completely inside the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston. The Sheldon area is located along Beltway 8 and US Highway 90, approximately twelve miles (19 km) northeast of Downtown Houston.
