John James Osborne (12 December 1929 – 24 December 1994) was an English playwright, screenwriter, actor, and entrepreneur, who is regarded as one of the most influential figures in post-war theatre. The Entertainer is a three-act play by John Osborne, first produced in 1957. His first play, Look Back in Anger , had attracted mixed notices but a great deal of publicity.
