The Mazda 6 (Japanese: マツダ・シックス, Hepburn: Matsuda Shikkusu) (known as the Mazda Atenza in Japan, derived from the Italian attenzione) is a mid-size sedan produced by Mazda since 2002, replacing the long-produced Capella/626.
The 2014 Atenza Wagon design concept was a Mazda Atenza Wagon with Skyactiv-D engine, Skyactiv-MT 6-speed transmission, metal-decorated instrument panel, dashboard with leather upholstery and stitching, and metal decoration at trunk board. Although Mazda is well known for their Wankel "rotary" engines, the company has been manufacturing piston engines since the earliest years of the Toyo Kogyo company. Early on, they produced overhead camshaft, aluminum blocks, and an innovative block containing both the engine and transmission in one unit.
