George Cadogan Gardner McKay (June 10, 1932 – November 21, 2001) was an American actor, artist, and author. He is best known for the lead role in the TV series Adventures in Paradise , based loosely on the writings of James Michener .
Gardner McKay starred as Adam Troy, the captain of the schooner Tiki III, which sailed the South Pacific looking for passengers and adventure. The plots deal with the romantic and detective adventures of Korean War veteran Troy.
That affinity for the stage would later inspire him to become a co-founder of the Los Angeles Art Theater. He then went on to hold the recurring role of Chris Parker from 1961 to 1962 in twenty-six episodes of the ABC series Adventures in Paradise, starring Gardner McKay as the skipper of a sailing vessel in the South Pacific.
