English Local Government is a series of nine books written by Sidney Webb and Beatrice Webb between 1903 and 1929 concerning UK constitutional and UK administrative law, relating to public services and local councils.
The Local Government Act 2001 (No. 37) was enacted by the Oireachtas on 21 July 2001 to reform local government in the Republic of Ireland. Most of the provisions of the Act came into operation on 1 January 2002. The act was a restatement and amendment of previous legislation, which was centred on the Local Government (Ireland) Act 1898.

The Local Government Act 1894 (56 & 57 Vict. c. 73) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that reformed local government in England and Wales outside the County of London. The act followed the reforms carried out at county level under the Local Government Act 1888 ( 51 & 52 Vict. c. 41).
