Alma Halliwell (also Sedgewick and Baldwin) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street, played by Amanda Barrie.She was originally introduced as a recurring character from 1981 to 1982 before later becoming a regular protagonist from 1988 to 2001.
Barrie is well known as Alma Sedgewick (later Baldwin), in Coronation Street. She was a bit-player in the early to mid-1980s before she was offered a contract in 1988, after which her character became high-profile. She continued in the role until her departure in 2001.
