Mysore Suryanarayana Bhatta Puttanna was one of the authors of Kannada literature noted for introducing Kannada in prose form to a wider audience. Kannada had largely fallen out of use in classical form and usage as an official language which was attributed to the reign of Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan when Urdu was used.
Shivaprakash was born in Bangalore in June 1954. His father Shivamurthy Shastri was an eminent Veerashaiva scholar and served under the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore.After obtaining his MA in English literature from Bangalore University, Shivaprakash joined the Karnataka government service as an English lecturer and taught for over two decades at various colleges in Bangalore and Tumkur.
Gamaka Vidwan M S Ananthapadmanabha Rao (6 September 1903 – 29 November 1987) was an Indian Kannada-language poet, writer, and gamaki.He was the author of the magnum opus Karnata Bharatha Kathamanjari containing the last eight parvas of the Kannada translation of the Mahabharatha that Kumaravyasa had left unfinished.

The first Kannada translation of the Kural text was made by Rao Bahadur R. Narasimhachar around 1910, who translated select couplets into Kannada. It was published under the title Nitimanjari, in which he had translated 38 chapters from the Kural, including 28 chapters from the Book of Virtue and 10 chapters from the Book of Polity. [1]
Kappe Arabhatta (Kannada: ಕಪ್ಪೆ ಅರಭಟ್ಟ) was a Chalukya warrior [1] of the 8th century who is known from a Kannada verse inscription, dated to c. 700 CE, and carved on a cliff overlooking the northeast end of the artificial lake in Badami, Karnataka, India.
His translation of Girish Karnad's 'Hayavadhana' was staged at the Delhi Tamil Sangam. [1] In 2014, Srinivasan translated the entire Kural text into Kannada in verse. It was published by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil in Chennai. [2]
