In the series finale, White Orchids, Jane surprises Lisbon by proposing to her. Lisbon accepts his proposal. In front of their family, friends, and co-workers, the two get married on the property Jane bought to build their home. Lisbon reveals that she is pregnant at the end of the episode.

The fourth season of the CBS police procedural series The Mentalist premiered on September 22, 2011 and concluded on May 17, 2012. The season picks up immediately after the events of the third-season finale in which Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) was arrested for the public murder of the man he believes is the notorious serial killer Red John, who murdered his wife and daughter.
The series follows Patrick Jane, an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) based in Sacramento, California.Although not an officer of the law, he uses his skills from his former career as a successful, yet admittedly fraudulent, psychic medium to help a team of CBI agents solve murders.
Minelli decides to assign the Red John case to Agent Sam Bosco, believing that Teresa Lisbon and Patrick Jane are too close to the case. Jane therefore decides to solve "one more case", then leave the CBI. They investigate the murder of a woman who is found suffocated after being accused of stealing a million dollars from her employer.
