Architectural Record is a US-based monthly magazine dedicated to architecture and interior design.Its editor in chief is Josephine Minutillo. The Record, as it is sometimes colloquially referred to, is widely-recognized as an important historical record of the unfolding debates in architectural practice, history and criticism in the 20th-century United States. The first edition was of what is now Architects' Journal was published in 1895. Originally named The Builder's Journal and Architectural Record, from 1906 to 1910 it was known as The Builder's Journal and Architectural Engineer, and it then became The Architects and Builder's Journal from 1911 until 1919, at which point it was given its current name.
The magazine reverted to its original name in 1925, and was published for another thirteen years. Its final edition, volume 152, was published in 1938, when it was absorbed into Architectural Record. [1] The magazine was originally published by Ticknor and Company Publishers, based on Tremont Street in Boston, Massachusetts. [2]
In 1987, while researching a book on Frey, the author, educator, and architect Joseph Rosa found the long-lost house. By then, the building was in extremely poor condition.
