Independent School District 318 is a school district located in Itasca County, Minnesota, United States, that operates public primary and secondary schools within the district. The district serves the communities of Balsam , Bigfork , Cohasset , Effie , Grand Rapids , Squaw Lake , Togo , Warba and Wawina .
In the early 1960s the town and school had declined to the point that a motion was made on May 29, 1961, to consolidate with Itasca ISD. Board Secretary E.D. Kiblinger suggested tabling the motion and holding a town meeting first to determine what the citizens wanted. Again in 1963 or 64, the board voted to close and consolidate with Itasca.
