Rayo Vallecano de Madrid, S.A.D. (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈraʝo βaʎeˈkano ðe maˈðɾið]), [a] often abbreviated to Rayo (Spanish for "thunderbolt"), is a Spanish professional football club based in the Villa de Vallecas district of Madrid.

The 2022–23 season was the 99th season in the history of Rayo Vallecano and their second consecutive season in the top flight. In addition to the league, the club participated in the Copa del Rey, losing in the round of 32 to second division side Sporting Gijón.
It currently hosts football matches and is the home of Primera Division club Rayo Vallecano. The stadium holds 14,708 spectators and was opened on 10 May 1976. [2] It was constructed between 1972 and 1976, and it is also known by the names of Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas and Estadio Puente de Vallecas (The Bridge of Vallecas Stadium). [3]
The score was 0–0 at the Vicente Calderón and 1–0 in favour of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. The two rivals met again in Milan for the 2016 Champions League final. After a 1–1 draw, Real Madrid won 5–3 on penalties. They met each other again in the semi-finals of the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League.
The 2020–21 Rayo Vallecano season was the club's 96th season in existence and the second consecutive season in the second division of Spanish football. In addition to the domestic league, Rayo Vallecano participated in this season's edition of the Copa del Rey. The season covered the period from 21 July 2020 to 30 June 2021.
