The Document Object Model (DOM) is a cross-platform and language-independent interface that treats an HTML or XML document as a tree structure wherein each node is an object representing a part of the document. The DOM represents a document with a logical tree. Each branch of the tree ends in a node, and each node contains objects.
A virtual DOM is a lightweight JavaScript representation of the Document Object Model (DOM) used in declarative web frameworks such as React, Vue.js, and Elm. [1] Since generating a virtual DOM is relatively fast, any given framework is free to rerender the virtual DOM as many times as needed relatively cheaply.
Separation of JavaScript and HTML: The jQuery library provides simple syntax for adding event handlers to the DOM using JavaScript, rather than adding HTML event attributes to call JavaScript functions. Thus, it encourages developers to completely separate JavaScript code from HTML markup.
There is a huge collection of events that can be generated by most element nodes: Mouse events. [3] [4]Keyboard events.; HTML frame/object events. HTML form events. User interface events.
Development became easier when Internet Explorer 5.0+, Mozilla Firefox 2.0+, and Opera 7.0+ adopted a shared DOM inherited from ECMAScript. Later, JavaScript libraries such as jQuery abstracted away many of the day-to-day difficulties in cross-browser DOM manipulation, though better standards compliance among browsers has reduced the need for this.
In internet security, DOM clobbering (where DOM stands for Document Object Model) is a type of injection attack that revolves around the attacker being able to insert benign non-script HTML code that can be used to influence the execution of JavaScript code. This enables a skilled attacker to perform a variety of unwanted behaviours, including ...

JDOM integrates with Document Object Model (DOM) and Simple API for XML (SAX), supports XPath and XSLT. [2] It uses external parsers to build documents. JDOM was developed by Jason Hunter and Brett McLaughlin starting in March 2000. [3] It has been part of the Java Community Process as JSR 102, though that effort has since been abandoned. [4]
