Hour Detroit is a monthly city magazine covering the Metro Detroit area. The magazine uses a glossy oversized format and features content on restaurants, arts and entertainment, and trends in fashion and décor. It began publication in 1996 and is a member of the City and Regional Magazine Association (CRMA). [2] [3] [4] [5]
In 1995, Hartle founded Hour Media, which publishes Hour Detroit - a Detroit lifestyle magazine and website, with business partners John Balardo and Stefan Wanczyk. Crain's Detroit Business named Hartle as one of the magazine's 40 under 40 in 1998. [1] In 2000, he sold out of the company and launched Hartle Media with then partner Heather Hartle.

Mudgie's was awarded "Best Sandwich" by Hour Detroit Magazine in 2012. [3] Mudgie's Deli was founded in February 2008 in Corktown, a small Irish neighborhood in downtown Detroit. The restaurant is located in the space formerly occupied by Eph McNally's.
On September 1, 2018, Gemini Publications was acquired by Hour Media of Detroit, Michigan. The new name of the company is Gemini Media LLC. [ 3 ] [ 1 ] In 2022, Crain Communications acquired the Grand Rapids Business Journal from Gemini.
