In terms of widebody or not, it's almost entirely preference. Yes, the widebody is functional. It handles better, but overall traction on a 700hp with 305s car isn't really all that much better vs. the 275s on the NB. My Hellcat was a NB, my Redeye is a WB. Again, I've driven both.
If you want it to look and perform like the OEM: -OEM widebody kit: 2015-2022 Dodge Challenger Challenger Widebody Fender Flare Kit 77072552AC | Direct Connection. -OEM Hellcat front fascia: 2015-2021 Dodge Challenger Challenger SRT® Hellcat Front Fascia Kit 77072556AC | Direct Connection. -4 big fat wheels. -4 big fat tires.
315s are widest tire you should put on an 11" rim anyway, so going farther would be new rims at least 11.5" wide and spacers or custom offsets. WBs have amazing traction even with the stock AS tires. I would recommend getting to know the car with stock tires before worrying about wider rubber.
That said, in all honesty the standard body doesn't suffer for cornering traction, at least not this side of real track use. If you upgrade to a decent tire like the PS4S etc. the standard body is quite capable in the corners. Cons: The wide body is heavier, especially in terms of unsprung weight.

It was on the opposite side of the interstate so I could have missed it, but that got me thinking. Anyone do the after market direct connect wide body kit?

Kstay, I had the detailer who Sun-Tek PPF wrapped and then ceramic coated my Wide Body Challenger clip on (and there is one screw for a factory predrilled hole) the zl1-addon rock guards while he had the wheels off to ceramic coat the brake calipers and wheels.

Widebody fenders from the factory have a larger opening to allow the wheels to fit the flares. Just tacking flares on stock fenders will not give you that clearance.

2012 White R/T said: Humm,I thought I read somewhere that the widebody suspension is a total of 1", (1/2" per side), wider than the standard body. This allows for the use of 275 tires while keeping the wheel load centered on the wheel bearing. The suspension track width is the exact same.
