It began as a women's collegiate league with teams coming from the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation (CESAFI), among others.

The 2023 Shakey's Girls Volleyball Invitational League was the inaugural edition of the high school competition organized by the Shakey's Super League and the first SSL tournament of 2023. The tournament was held from May 7 to June 3, 2023, at San Andres Sports Complex, Malate, Manila. It features 16 high school teams from different schools.

The Shakey's V-League 12th Season Collegiate Conference was the 24th conference of Shakey's V-League. The opening ceremony was held on July 11, 2015 [1] with the first triple header of volleyball games at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan, Metro Manila.
