Coaxial cable, or coax (pronounced / ˈ k oʊ. æ k s /), is a type of electrical cable consisting of an inner conductor surrounded by a concentric conducting shield, with the two separated by a dielectric (insulating material); many coaxial cables also have a protective outer sheath or jacket.
An attempt by Apple to deal with cable clutter, by combining five separate cables from computer to monitor. Female port (20-pin) Digital Flat Panel (DFP) Used with the PanelLink digital video protocol. Deprecated. Made obsolete by DVI. 3D model of a UDI connector Unified Display Interface: Proposed to replace both DVI and HDMI.
CoaXPress (CXP) is a digital interface standard developed for high-speed image data transmission in machine vision applications. The name is a portmanteau of 'express' and 'coaxial' to emphasize CoaXPress is faster than other standards (e.g. Camera Link or GigE Vision) and uses 75 ohm coaxial cables as the physical transmission medium.
Return loss is a measure of how well devices or lines are matched. A match is good if the return loss is high. A high return loss is desirable and results in a lower insertion loss. From a certain perspective 'Return Loss' is a misnomer. The usual function of a transmission line is to convey power from a source to a load with minimal loss.
A link budget is an accounting of all of the power gains and losses that a communication signal experiences in a telecommunication system; from a transmitter, through a communication medium such as radio waves, cable, waveguide, or optical fiber, to the receiver.
In telecommunications, insertion loss is the loss of signal power resulting from the insertion of a device in a transmission line or optical fiber and is usually expressed in decibels (dB). If the power transmitted to the load before insertion is P T and the power received by the load after insertion is P R , then the insertion loss in decibels ...
[5] [6] Acceptable values for wireless transmission quality loss are considered to be about 20 dB to 25 dB. [7] [8] In the absence of noise, the two images I and K are identical, and thus the MSE is zero. In this case the PSNR is infinite (or undefined, see Division by zero). [9]
They may be less feature rich than full-feature OTDRs. Often they can be used in conjunction with PC-based software to perform data collection and sophisticated data analysis. Hand-held OTDRs are commonly used to measure fiber links and locate fiber breaks, points of high loss, high reflectance, end-to-end loss, and Optical Return Loss (ORL).
