The Guadalupita-Coyote Rural Historic District is a historic district in Mora County, New Mexico which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. [1]It includes the village of Guadalupita, parts of Guadalupita and Williams canyons, and the Coyote Creek valley between Guadalupita and Lucero.
New Mexico State Road 118 (Historic Route 66) runs through the northern side of the community. It is 10 miles (16 km) west of Gallup, the county seat, and 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Lupton, Arizona. Mora County was created in 1860. Following the Gadsden Purchase of 1853–1854, the northeasternmost part of the New Mexico Territory was ceded to the new Colorado Territory in February 1861, before the western half was reorganized as the Arizona Territory in February 1863, establishing New Mexico's present-day boundaries.

The community is in the northeast corner of the county, 29 miles (47 km) by road west of Cuba and 120 miles (190 km) northeast of Gallup, the McKinley county seat.It is on the west side of the valley of Encino Wash, a southeast-running tributary of Torreon Wash, Arroyo Chico, and eventually Rio Puerco, a tributary of the Rio Grande.
