Paradise Garden in Summerville, Georgia, was the home and workplace of Baptist minister and folk artist Howard Finster and is now a public park dedicated to his life and art. Paradise Garden, located at 200 North Lewis Street, is open to the public.
Howard Finster (December 2, 1916 – October 22, 2001) was an American artist and Baptist minister from Georgia.He claimed to be inspired by God to spread the gospel through the design of his swampy land into Paradise Garden, a folk art sculpture garden with over 46,000 pieces of art.
The music video was directed by Jim Shea, and features Reverend Howard Finster. It was filmed at Finster's Paradise Garden Park and Museum in Summerville, Georgia.
The Folk Art Society has awarded 12 plaques of recognition to various folk art environments. The plaque from FASA identifies the site as worthy of preservation and protection. Recipients of this plaque include the Watts Towers, Howard Finster's Paradise Garden, the Miles B. Carpenter Museum, [27] and Grandma Prisbrey's Bottle Village.
