Five boat launch ramps remain open, and one marina previously provided access to the lake, however the marina closed during the drought of 2011–2013. Park headquarters are in Fritch. Canyon Lake is a center for recreation in the area. The Corps of Engineers built and maintains eight park areas around the lake for camping, swimming, boating and picnicking. Bank fishing is available in all park areas, and a fishing dock can be found in Cranes Mill Park on the south side of the lake.
