It is the largest-ever English-Sinhala dictionary in the history of lexicons in Sri Lanka, Ingirisi Sinhala Maha Shabdakoshaya. The dictionary claims to consist of more than 500,000 words. Of them, about 100,000 words are new entries – some of which the lexicographer coined or added, combing Sinhala classical literature or folklore.

The JVP majority was the second-largest majority in the country’s parliamentary history, and the first election since 1977 where a single party managed to achieve a supermajority. The JVP secured 6,863,186 votes, the highest ever obtained by a single political party in a general election, surpassing the 6,853,690 votes won by the SLPFA in 2020 .
Mr. Siriwardena had written many Poems, Short Stories and Articles for Sinhalese News Papers. In 1976 he published his first book. It was Ane Mage Nadu Asanu, a collection of poetry. 1976 also saw the birth of the Siriwardenas first daughter. They named her Deepani Siriwardena. In 1979 their son Prabath Siriwardena was born.
