The Senegal national basketball team (French: Équipe de basketball du Senegal) represents Senegal in men's international basketball and it is overseen by Federation Senegalaise de basketball, five time a gold medallist (in 1968, 1972, 1978, 1980, and 1997), a six time silver medallist, and a four time bronze medallist at the FIBA Africa Championship.
One of the first clubs of the country were ASC Jeanne d'Arc and Foyer France Senegal. After independence, Foyer France Senegal became ASC Diaraf. Numerous clubs were created in the 1970s and the 1990s. For many seasons, all of the clubs participating comes from the western part of the country where Dakar, Saint-Louis and Ziguinchor are located.

Marius Ndiaye stadium (Stade Marius Ndiaye) is an indoor arena in Dakar, Senegal, used primarily for basketball. The arena was home to the FIBA Africa Championship for Women 2007 in September 2007. It was also used to host the 29th FIBA Africa Basketball Championship in 2017.
AS Douanes was established in 1980, [3] as the basketball section of the Senegalese customs organisation. [4] In 1998, the team won its first national championship. They won two more championships in 2007 and 2008, followed by six championship in the 2010s.
