Christian hip-hop music first emerged on record in 1982 with a track entitled "Jesus Christ (The Gospel Beat)" by Queens, New York artist McSweet. The first full-length Christian hip-hop album, Bible Break , by Oklahoma artist Stephen Wiley , was released in 1985, with the title track becoming a hit on Christian radio in 1986.

"Thine Be the Glory, Risen Conquering Son" (French: À toi la gloire O Ressuscité), also titled "Thine Is the Glory", [1] is a Christian hymn for Easter, written by the Swiss Protestant minister, Edmond Budry (1854–1932), and set to the tune of the chorus "See, the Conqu'ring hero comes" from the third section of Handel's oratorio Judas Maccabaeus.
It has also been set to music by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Tomás Luis de Victoria, and others.
