Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (Abbreviation: HCMUTE, Vietnamese: Trường Đại học Sư phạm Kỹ thuật Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) is a public university in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is currently regarded as one of the top technical universities in Vietnam. [1]
It was founded as the Saigon National Pedagogical University in 1957 and reestablished by prime ministerial decree in 1976. In 1995, the university was incorporated in Ho Chi Minh City National University, then it became an autonomous university with the current name in 1999.
The athletic department is named after the Ute tribe of Native Americans. The men's basketball team is known as the Runnin' Utes; the women's gymnastics team is known as the Red Rocks. [2] On August 4, 2023, Utah accepted an invite to join the Big 12 Conference effective August 2, 2024. [3] [4]
