Grand Traverse County is considered to be part of Northern Michigan. The highest point in Grand Traverse County is Exodus Hill in Long Lake Township, and the lowest point is the Grand Traverse Bay. The county is home to many notable lakes, including Arbutus Lake, Fife Lake, Green Lake, Silver Lake, Spider Lake, and part of Elk Lake.
Acme Township (/ ˈ æ k m iː / AK-mee) is a civil township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 4,456, a slight increase from 4,375 at the 2010 census. The southwestern portion of the township is largely urbanized, due to its proximity to Traverse City.
Long Lake Township is one of three charter townships in Grand Traverse County, the others being East Bay Township and neighboring Garfield Township. Long Lake, from which the township takes its name, is the largest lake entirely within Grand Traverse County. Much of Long Lake Township is suburban due to its proximity to Traverse City.
South of the Wexford County line, the highway converts to a freeway. M-113 primarily runs north–south through Fife Lake Township, beginning at a junction with US 131 near Walton. However, in the northwest of the township, the highway makes a 90-degree curve, running due west through Kingsley , ending south of Traverse City at a junction with M-37
