There seems to be a lot of confusion on who built the Deere 100 baler. We never brought the 80/80 to the states so our (Krone NA) involvement with the 80/80 or the Deere 100 is very minimal. The first baler we marketed here in North America was the BP88/128 which was available with a single or double tie system.

The 2008 that I have now has about 30,000 bales thru it and there are areas of the baler that seem to have more wear on them now that the previous baler did with over 3 times the hay run thru it. I just traded it off for a new MF 1839 in-line baler - not because I didn't like the 338 but because the way I bale my hay has changed and an in-line ...

Weekend warrior used to pull one with a JD 730 diesel, it would sure blow some smoke but got the job done. IIRC he was in 4th gear, about 4.5-5 mph. Personally we pulled a 567 with a 92 hp tractor and never really knew it was back there at 6-7 mph. Put the speed to the baler (10+ mph) and you can load a 125 hp tractor.
Wallis, TX: Had one of each, the 567 was IMHO, a better baler. The 568 had a lot more problems than the 567. The bigger tires were nice and the bigger chain lasted longer but they didn't nearly outweigh all the problems with the slip clutch, proximity sensors on the gate, monitor troubles, (resulting in bent gate numerous times) and all the net problems (especially with Deere net wr

145 HP tractor will be overkill big time. It would be an older baler maybe able to find a picture at tractorhouse.com just pick small balers then john deere there you will see the a list of john deere balers pick the model you want to check out. You can also see app. what price they are asking to give you an ideal of the value of it.
