The University Interscholastic League Academic Contests, also known as UIL Academics, is a series of academic contests offered by the University Interscholastic League in the state of Texas. At the High School level, 30 contests are offered. At the Middle and Elementary School levels, 20 contests are offered.
Public School extra-curricular activities, which includes marching band, are governed by the University Interscholastic League, or UIL. UIL holds a series of contests every fall in order to determine the state champion for High School Marching Bands. The state is divided up into 6 categories for high schools, 1A to 6A.
