If not something chewing it, it almost looks like worn spots. What about birds (herons or something pecking?) or even critters digging from underneath the pond and liner. @sissy I believe had critters damage her liner from underneath. And another thought, do you know the warranty info on the liner? If the liner is 16 years old, maybe it’s at ...
Location. "Down East" Maine. May 12, 2012. #1. it would be very helpful if an experienced ponder would tell me something like. "jerry, you'll never get all the wrinkles out of the sides of your pond liner, especially if the shape of your pond isn't perfectly round. just do the best you can to smooth it as the pond fills, and it'll be just fine."
This works great because the drain outlet is lower then the pond surface level. This is the important part. For the water under the liner to escape without a pump, the outlet must be below the pond water level. With this design, the water pressure in the liner, forces the water under the liner up and out the drain.
we just got two verizon billboards the other day for our "slip n slide" flip me an email and I can show you the pic. Son bday was a hit to go down 120 feet of the slippery vinyl. I think they would work well for pond liner, great idea.
It can surely be done. But in terms of a traditional swimming pool, I think it's rarely done because most people have some set expectations of how a pool should look and operate vs. a pond, and a black pond liner is not really in line with what most people who want a pool would want. You can use all the same principles to build a pool that you ...
8b. Country. Feb 6, 2020. #1. I have an 800 gallon above ground pound with a liner. The line has a light coating of green algae. My wife says I should brush it off, and it will easily come off, and I say the fish will nibble on it. The algae is not long or stringy and my water is clear. So what is everyone's opinion.
9. Water or cleaning of new rubber; Elbow grease for dirty previously burred liner. I have used Gasoline to clean and restore old liner to look like new. 10. Shop towels , anything that will not leave hairs behind. 11. EPDM primer, Firestone makes there own, as do several others. 12. Double sided EPDM seam tape.
Anyway, I just bought a house and there is a koi pond in the backyard, approximate 1,400-1,600 gal. After doing some research, I know this pond was not in a good design at all, no bottom drain. The external pump is way above the water level and the previous owner just dump the 2'' pipe straight down from the pump to the bottom of the liner pond.
Mar 18, 2016. #7. morewater said: You cannot paint an EPDM liner, period. For the sake of share obstinacy, I must point out that I COULD in fact do this. Nothing actually makes me want to do something more than being told that I can't do it. I'm sort of like a bull that way.
May 7, 2012. #12. j.w said: It's basically what was said and shown above. Just a ledge w/ rocks and then go up w/ more liner over a berm of dirt and place more rocks on top of the finished edge. That lower ledge you can make just a few inches high and the rocks you choose will cover the liner.
