Last night after our last walk, Honey was lying down in front of a fan in my room (it's hot here, AC is also on, but she really likes the fan), and breathing very rapidly (80 breaths per minute). The breathing was shallow. Her temperature was normal (101.7), gums and eyes were normal, and she didn't seem to be in distress or pain in any other way.

He definitely hurt his front leg - I just carried him outside to urinate. He hobbled a little bit; then I carried him back up.

80 breaths per minute. My 7-month old Golden Retriever, Dexter, has been breathing really fast when he lies down to sleep and while he sleeps. I timed it when he fell asleep and it was around 80 per minute. My other 7-month old German Shepherd, Molly, doesn't do this and sleeps like a rock. Also, Dexter doesn't do it while he's up and playing ...
This is so sad to watch. I was able to get the am tramadol, prednisone, and cephelexin in him, he drank alittle bit. It is almost 7:00 am and I just checked on him. He is still in the dog bed, on his back and sleeping, snoring away. Breathing seems rapid. But at least he is asleep.

My little girl had a heart murmur for many years. I decided to take her for a check-up to a vet I had never been to before and they made me feel so guilty about her ...

The raspy sound occurs particularly during inspiration. We boarded her this weekend, thursday evening; and we retrieved her this morning.
Prednisone is supposed to cause dry mouth, so I'm wondering why he's slobbering. He did eat a little and drank a little last night. He is very shaky from the anemia, has the saddest eyes I've ever seen him with, doesn't want to be around the other dogs (we have 5 total), still slobbering this morning, and still has labored breathing.
