In Xenia, USBR 50 shares a short segment of the Little Miami trail with State Bike Route 3. From Xenia to Columbus, it shares the Prairie Grass, Roberts Pass, and Camp Chase trails – local segments the Ohio to Erie Trail – with U.S. Bicycle Route 21 and State Bike Route 1.
The trail has seven crossings, the most of any rails with trails. The Camp Chase Trail is 15.2 miles (24.5 km), with 3 miles (4.8 km) in Madison County and 12.2 miles (19.6 km) in Franklin County. The Camp Chase Trail extends from Lilly Chapel (Roberts Pass Trail) to the Columbus Hilltop Neighborhood where it connects to the Scioto Greenway Trail.
At 1,116 feet (340 m) above sea level, it rises approximately 300 feet above the surrounding land. On clear days, it is possible to see the skyline of Downtown Columbus from one of the overlook points on top of the ridge. Other features of the park include picnic areas and extensive mountain biking trails.
Just before crossing the river, the route passes under an old railroad bridge that now hosts the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Both US 50 and SR 28 cross over the Little Miami River and enters the City of Milford. The route curves southeast, before turning northeast, passing through the downtown area of Milford.
