ZCSD (ZCSD), or Zachary Community School Board is a school district in Zachary, Louisiana, United States. In addition to Zachary it serves some unincorporated areas around it. [4] The Zachary Community School System was founded in 2002 and was formed from schools that had been located in the East Baton Rouge Parish School District. [5]
Zachary is located in northern East Baton Rouge Parish. It is bordered to the north by the city of Slaughter, to the east by Central, and to the south by Baker. Louisiana Highway 19 passes through the city, leading north 5 miles (8 km) to the center of Slaughter and south 9 miles (14 km) to U.S. Route 61 in the northern part of Baton Rouge.
Three teachers at the school were named Louisiana Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Cathy Raziano, who was selected as Louisiana's 2003-2004 Teacher of the Year, Dr. Carol Price, a math teacher, was honored as 2007-2008 Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Britni Matthews, an English honors teacher who was honored as Louisiana's 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year.
