In the Swachh Survekshan 2020 rankings, three cities from the state—Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati—were listed among the top 10 cleanest cities in India. Quality Council of India had been commissioned by the Ministry of Urban Development to conduct an extensive survey to measure the success rate of Swachh Bharat Mission.
