If I was building a dedicated outdoor kitchen and had enough room to spare I would go with a full size built in commercial griddle. If they offer them in 3/4”-1” thick plate stainless that would be ideal. South of Nashville - BGE XL - Alfresco 42" ALXE - Alfresco Versa Burner - Sunbeam Microwave.
Removing the base from the granite will be very difficult if it's built in. You'll get at least 1 crack in the XL base that you'll need to replace, so I'd leave the front counter open for easier access. I think the built in looks nicer. The open space makes a lot of sense though.
I wish you were in Ohio or near by. I'd help you tremendously. I have a porcelain coated gas grill that is lifetime. 4 existing, 8 new burners, 3 venturi tubes. Runs on gas or propane. 4 burner that would be perfect. Built my outdoor kitchen and this vents from rear. I had to vent from the front. Only reason to get rid of it.
The disc in both of the FireDisc models are the same diameter - 22" - the 24" and 36" dimensions refer to the HEIGHT of the item. Yes, both Fire Disc the same size, 22", but the cooking surface area of 22", because of the Disc shape, is very large compared to a Wok, with the steep side walls.
Outdoor Kitchen Side Burner. Photo Egg Posts: 12,119. August 2010 edited November -1. I'm in the market for an outdoor "side burner" to mount in a cooking station. They make drop in and slide in models and then many brands as well. Any advice on model (not trying to break the bank) or style. I would rather stay propane and not run nat gas lines.
November 2016. Question for you Blackstone owners out there. I am about to do an outdoor kitchen project, and would like to build in (or neatly slide in) a 36" Blackstone rather than the usual gas grill. Will obviously be making a spot for my XL BGE. Based on looking at photos I am assuming I could leave off the side shelves and casters and ...
October 2015. I'm building a new house and I'm having an outdoor kitchen built. I have gas stubbed out but I don't really want a gas grill. I'm debating on a two lbge set-up with a twin gas burner on the side or a lbge, gas grill, and a 2 gas burner on the side. I currently only have one bge but I should be able to pick up another.
Built an add-on wing at a 45 degree angle for my existing table making space for my new Mini. Puts the grills on the same level and leaves all the table space I had before. I drilled holes in the mini nest and screwed to wing to keep it secure when partying.

One of the biggest pellet smoker complaints is about the lack of smoke flavor.
Built in blackstone griddle questions. I am thinking about building in a 36" blackstone griddle into my outdoor kitchen. I have seen a few examples here, @grege345, @jdkeithbge -- I'd like to do some planning. I have a few questions -- and anyone else that might have done something similar, I am interested in your experiences. 1.
