In 1927 the New York Central began placing the first 4-6-4 locomotives at the head of its finest trains and named the new machines Hudsons. From that time forward the word began to represent more than a great river. A decade later Lionel chose the New York Central Hudson as the subject of its largest, most detailed and most expensive O scale model.

chuck OGR Forum Member. Prototypical flat cars came in almost every length imaginable. Even the "traditional" Lionel/K-Line cars are scale for 40-44 foot cars which would have been common post ww1 and pre ww2. The cars have lengthened over time to modern TOFC cars that are 89' long. 9/4/131:38 PM.
It sure is, a beautiful model. A 2 rail o scaler lives close to me, his collection is in the millions, no joke. I’ve repaired at least 8-10 OMI Berk’s for him. Gorgeous models with beautiful castings. Sure miss OMI.
I saw plenty of Atlas 3-rail rolling stock for sale. One guy saw me eyeing his set of six K-Line 18" aluminum streamlined passenger cars, LNIB. He converted them to 2-rail but he still had the 3-rail trucks to throw in on the deal. He really wanted me to take all six for $200.

I have attached a picture from the Lionel website in the style I am looking for but for some odd reason they only sell them for HO. Can someone point me in the right direction? I need a bunch of them ...

I have been thinking about a permanent 3 rail layout for quite a while, and of course the first thing that comes to mind is track. I want to use MTH ScaleTrax, but their curve selection is not great. So I want to use their flex track to sub in as a 0-63-ish curve. I have never used flex track though. What tools do I need? How do I get the right curve radius? Am I better off just using Atlas ...
I am trying to locate some O scale freight doors. They come in green and, as I remember, they had an acrhed top frame. They were from an obscure scratch-building supplier. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
