The Associated Students have been involved in the construction and remodeling of EWU's student union buildings as early as 1954 when plans were being considered for the building that would become Isle Hall. The new student union building was intended to replace Ratcliffe House which purportedly became too small for increasing enrollment.
[4] The Center's name has changed over time: originally the Women's Center from the fall of 1977 [5] until about June 1989, [6] it was renamed the EWU Women Studies Center in September 1989. [7] It received its current name, the Women's and Gender Education Center, in the fall of 2017.
The Anderson College Historic District is a historic district on the campus of Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina. [2] [3] It consists of six contributing properties (five buildings and one site) spread out over 8 acres (3.2 ha). The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. [1]
